Freeman Dyson wrote an article called The Darwinian Interlude, which -- amongst other things -- talks about biological history and how things will progress from now on. Although the article is very interesting in itself, the weird (and even more interesting) thing about it is how it parallels Marx's "redefinition" of history in the "prehistorical" communist era, way back when, when everything was shared etc., through feudalism, up to capitalism. From there the appearance of a communist "state" would be an inevitability. In this article it seems evolution is following a similar path. Not sure what that means though...
